Stuffed Capsicum | Bharwa Shimla Mirch Recipe – Step by step image instructions to make stuffed capsicum. It is one of my favorite recipes and really very tasty too. This recipe is very easy to cook and always on the top of my to-cook list. Today, I have decided to cook this mouth watering recipe for lunch.

Stuffed means Bharwa in Hindi, that’s why it is called Bharwa shimla mirchi. You don’t need a professional skill to cook this, it is very easy and quick to cook recipe Bharwa shimla mirchi is a incredibly tummy filling perfect vegetarian meal. The accurate translation of bharwa shimla mirch in English would be stuffed bell peppers. To cook this recipe you will need few ingredients, which are easily available in common household. These bell peppers are loaded with protein, veggies and tasty ingredients creating a balanced meal for everyone in family.

Ingredients for Stuffed Capsicum
- 2 Big size Green Capsicum / Shimla mirch
- 1/2 bowl Peanuts
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tsp Coriander leaves (For garnishing)
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt as required
How to make Stuffed Capsicum?
This is step by step image instructions to make this tasty stuffed capsicum. You need to follow this step by step photo instruction and your food is ready in minutes.
Step 1: Let’s start our preparation from cutting the veggies. For preparing this dish, we have to cut the capsicum/ bell pepper straight line into halves and remove the seeds from inside. Then cut coriander leaves and garlic cloves. Heat the pan and roast the peanuts. then clean it well. Also clean the garlic cloves, then grind peanuts and garlic together. Make a mixture of peanuts, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garlic and salt.
Step 2: Sprinkle some salt inside and fill capsicum with the mixture of peanuts (Peanuts paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garlic paste and salt), stuff them tightly.
Step 3: Now take a deep pan and heat the oil. Add stuffed capsicum in it and cover the pan for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes when capsicum’s are cooked from one side, turn them upside down, keep doing that after every 2 minutes. Sprinkle 1 tsp black paper powder if you like, it is totally optional. Remember we have to cook the entire circumference of the capsicum.
Stuffed capsicum is ready to serve. Serve this preparation with roti and raw mango chutney. This is best preparation for office going people, because it is very easy to cook, need very less time and need less number of ingredients.
Additional Instructions for Stuffed Capsicum
- While roasting the peanuts make sure it will not burn, because if peanuts are burned then stuffing will taste bitter.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and garlic paste while grinding the peanuts.
- We are using coriander leaves only for garnishing, so if it is not available it will not make any difference in taste.
