    Hey guys! I am here to tell you about one of my favorite recipe “Murgh-E-Spring Onion”. This is the preparation of chicken with the spring onion and tasty spices. Murgh-E-Spring Onion is very delicious dish and it takes less than one hour to cook. To make this chicken spring onion curry you will need basic ingredients which are easily available at your home. This chicken preparation have the sweetness of spring onion, aroma of green chilies and spiciness of different spices.

    So the story comes from my college days. When I was in college, I used to stay in pg, that time I have learned this recipe from one of my roommate. Actually still I have that amazing taste experience in my mouth and tung when I eat this Murgh-E-spring onion first time. Actually it was a rainy day and we had a holiday as it was Sunday. Me and my roommate had a tea around 9 am and started to discuss about menu for lunch.

    While thinking about the lunch menu my roommate asked me to buy half kg chicken for both of us and I was just surprised because she doesn’t like to eat chicken. I asked her about this certain change, she replied with this delicious recipe. “I like to eat this type of preparation only!” she added with a smile. So many memories are attached to this “Murg-E-Spring Onion Recipe”. She also told me that, the spring onion cutting and chicken marination is a very important process for this recipe as it will directly make an effect on taste.

    Ingredients for Murgh-E-Spring Onion

    • 500 gram chicken
    • 3 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
    • 2 thinly sliced onion (Medium size onion)
    • 1 bunch of Spring onion (7-8 spring onion with medium size cute)
    • 4-5 Green chili
    • 1 bowl chopped coriander leaves
    • 2 Bay leafs
    • 1/2 Lemon
    • 2 Dry red chilies
    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp chicken masala
    • 1 tsp coriander powder
    • 2 tbsp oil
    • 1 Cinnamon (1 inch)
    • 4 peppercorns
    • 4 Cloves
    • 2 Small Cardamon
    • 1 Large Cardamom
    • salt
    • water

    How to Make Murgh-E-Spring Onion

    Remember, marination of chicken with lemon, ginger-garlic paste and salt is a very important part of this chicken preparation. Let’s make it.

    Step 1: Firstly take one mixing bowl, add chicken in it and clean chicken well. Before marination, wash chicken again under running water, then marinate chicken by adding lemon, ginger garlic paste and salt, mix it well. Cover it and keep aside for 20-30 Minutes. Meanwhile cut the spring onion, onion, green chillies, onion and coriander leaves.

    Step 2: Now take one pan and heat the oil. Add khada masala and green chili in it. Allow the whole spices to splutter and release their aroma. After chilies are fried then add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and spring onion in oil, fry until it converts into a golden brown color and it will get a smooth texture.

    Step 3: It is time to add red chili powder, coriander powder, chicken masala, turmeric powder and salt in this fried mixture. Mix and fry it well. Cover the mixture and cook over low flame until the masala comes together and oil get separated from the mixture. After 5 minutes add marinated chicken in this fried masala. Cover it again and cook chicken on low flame.

    Step 4: Cook chicken for 15-20 Minutes on low flame. Don’t cook this chicken on high flame. After 15 minutes check once that, chicken is fully cooked or not, if not then cover chicken again and cook it for more 5 minutes. Make sure that the chicken cooked smooth in texture.

    Ta Da! Now your Murg-E-Spring onion is ready to serve. Serve this with fulka, lachha paratha, chapati, roti, rumali roti or nan. Enjoy it and tell me if you like it.     • While cutting spring onion make sure pieces should be in a medium size, don’t use finely chopped spring onion.
    • Ratio to use ginger-garlic paste depends upon your taste but use 1/3 paste while marination.
