Actually in Maharashtra dal-Batti with Bhat(Rice), Vangy-batatyachi bhaji(Brinjal-potato mix curry) is very famous preparation. On the occasion of various puja you will find this type of rajasthani food dal-baati in Maharashtrian household. Here I am sharing with you a very easy recipe of Dal-Baati, potato-brinjal curry and rice. The total thali treat for dal baati lovers.

    Dal baati churma has origin Rajasthan. In Rajashthani thali you will find dal, baati, churma, different type of vegetable, fulka, papad, different type of pickles, different type chutney, khaman dhokla, handvi, chas, curd, sweet dish and many more. It is just a tasty, unlimited thali treat for rajasthani cuisin lovers. I personally like to eat dal baati, khaman dhokla. Dal bati is Rajasthani, Indian dish combination of the dal and baati. Rajasthani cuisines are very rare and have a combination of tasty food.     Ingredients for Dal

    • 1/2 Bowl Mung Dal
    • 3 Dry red chilies
    • 1/2 tsp Mustered seeds
    • 2 tbsp Oil
    • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
    • 1 Bay leaf
    • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
    • Salt
    • Water

    Process for Dal

    In my family, we like to eat mung dal with baati, But mainly in Rajasthan you will find the combination of dal used in it, like Tur dal, mung dal and many other. While making dal, it is depend upon you which dal or combination of dal you want to use, as it is personal and depend upon your choice and taste.

    Step 1: firstly take mung dal in one mixing bowl and wash it well with the help of water. After this wash mung dal again, then add mung dal and 4 cup of water in cooker, also add turmeric powder. Cover the cooker and take 3 whistles to cook the dal.

    Step 2: Take the pan and heat the oil, add cumin seeds, mustered seeds, bay leaf, red dry chili in oil and fry this all together. After that add steamed mung dal, salt and mix it well, then add 2 cup of water and boil the dal. Your dal is ready. Pore ghee on the hot dal.

    Your Dal is ready, now pore the hot ghee on dal and serev hot dal with baati. For serving the dal, let’s start to make baati first. While preparing the batti you have some steps to follow, so let’s start preparation for baati.

    Ingredients for Baati

    • 2 Bowl Wheat flour
    • 1 Bowl Rava / Semolina
    • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
    • 1 tsp Ajwain
    • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp Oil
    • Pinch of baking soda
    • salt
    • water

    Step 1: Take one mixing bowl, add wheat flour, semolina, coriander powder, ajwain, turmeric powder, pinch of soda and salt in it. Now add oil and water, start to knee to the dough. Make soft dough and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.

    Step 2: Lighten the gas, place deep pan on it and add water in pan keep it on low flame. After that place one oily sieve plat on the deep pan, you can also use steamer or idli maker pot for steam the baati. Now make medium ball(baati) out of the dough and place this all in that sieve plat. Cover the pan and steam the baati for 15 minutes. Check after 15 minutes with the help oily knife, baati is cooked or not.

    Step 3: Now put steamed baati in one plat and cut it in a four pieces. Take one deep pan and heat the oil for the purpose of frying the baati. Add baati in hot oil and fry baati till it convert into the golden color. Now your tasty and crunchy baati is ready.

    Fried baati is ready cover it and keep it aside. Let’s start to prepare Brinjal-potato curry. This is very tasty veggies of brinjal-potato and remember this vegetable not contain the gravy, it is dry curry. You will lovw the taste of this curry. Try it!

    Ingredients for Brinjal-potato Vegetable

    • 4 Brinjals
    • 2 Potatoes
    • 1 Mustered seeds
    • 4-5 Garlic cloves
    • 1 tsp Red chili powder
    • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
    • salt

    Step 1: Firstly cut the brinjals and potatoes in square shape, put this all in salted water. Remember, don’t remove skin of brinjal and potato. Then clean the garlic cloves and cut the coriander leaves. Now make the chutney of garlic cloves, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt.

    Step 2: Take the pan and heat the oil add mustered seeds and chutney in this oil, fry it well, then add chopped brinjals and potatoes in this fried chutney. Fry it well and cover this all for 2 minutes. In starting fry this all on high flame and after 2 minutes cook this veginatble on low flame. Check after 7-8 minutes, cook this curry on steam only, don’t add water. your vangya-batatyachi bhaji, Brijal-potato curry is ready.

    Brinjal-potato curry is ready, this is very tasty preparation of veggies. If you like this preparation you can make this curry to eat with roti in daily routine. I know you will love the taste of this curry with dal batti. Now let’a strt to prepare ur last dish rice. This our last prepartion in this dal baati thali.

    Ingredients for Rice

    Preparing the rice is very easy process. If you like to eat smooth and soft rice then add 1 tsp oil and salt in water while cooking the rice. Don’t forget to wash and clean the rice well.

    • 1/2 Bowl rice
    • 1 tsp oil
    • Salt
    • Water

    Process for Rice

    Step 1: Take one deep bowl, add the rice in this bowl and clean the rice in running water. Now add this clean rice, oil, salt,1 bowl water in cooker and take 3 whistles to cook the rice. Check after 3 whistles, rice is cooked or not. Serve this garm garam(hot) rice to eat.

    Dal baati thali is ready, now take a plate and serve dal, baati, brinjal-potato curry and rice. Pore god amount of ghee on dal and baati, don’t forget to serve pickle. When you go to eat this thali in any hotel you will find many dishes with it. There are many places famous for dal baati like Bhati-dal baati & churma jodhpur rajasthan is famous for there platters.

    Additional Information

    • While making a baati add pinch of soda, don’t add more than one pinch.
    • If you have a baati flour then use baati flour to make soft and cruchy baati.
    • Don’t add water in brinjal and potato curry, cook this curry on steam.
    • While making rice you can make jeera(cumin) rice also. For cook jeera rice heat the 1 tsp of oil and add 1 tsp jeera(cumin) in this hot oil and fry it well then add 2 bowl of salt, water and one bowl of rice in it. Take a 3 whistles. Your jeera(cumin) rice is ready.
